The microchip reading distance may vary depending on wall construction and surrounding materials.

Metal, foil-backed insulation or steel reinforcement close to the scanner can reduce its reading range. The supplied wall adaptor helps separate the cat flap from surrounding materials, but careful installation is still important.

Before cutting the wall, check for:

For thick cavity walls, the tunnel should be installed level and securely supported so the extensions remain correctly aligned.

Can This Kit Be Used in Doors or Glass?

Yes. The cat flap can also be installed into suitable timber, uPVC and metal doors. The included adaptor may be useful where metal reinforcement could interfere with microchip performance.

For double-glazed or toughened glass, a new glass unit must be manufactured with the correct hole before installation. Existing toughened or sealed double-glazed units cannot normally be cut.
